The USA Men’s Falcons have named 12 players for the Los Angeles Invitational taking place Friday, Feb 28 to Saturday, Feb 29 alongside HSBC LA Sevens.

Day One will take place at Orange County Sports Park with Day Two at Dignity Health Sports Park Field Complex. While a broadcast partner has not been confirmed, score updates for the Falcons will be posted across USA Rugby’s Twitter.

The Falcons will be led by Men’s Sevens Assistant Coach Anthony Roques with senior national team players Mike Te’o and Faitala Talapusi as Co-Captains. Maceo Brown will play on Friday at LAI while also serving as an injury reserve for the senior tournament Saturday and Sunday.

As the official development side for the national team, the Falcons will see rising players and experienced seniors compete together with all coaches and players of the senior side watching throughout the day.

“We’re looking forward to having the Falcons play at the Los Angeles Invitational,” said Head Coach Mike Friday. “This will be a great opportunity for our exciting younger Dawgs to grow and challenge themselves alongside some of our more experienced Dawgs who are keen to make a point to the coaches who will be there watching.

“As the domestic game grows, the LAI will also give us a chance to identify new talent as we look ahead to not only Tokyo 2020 but the start of a new cycle next year in the lead up to Rugby World Cup 2022 and Paris 2024 Olympics.”

The Los Angeles Invitational features a variety of divisions for all skills and age levels. Schedule and pools for the Falcons will be announced in the coming days.
