Update from USA Age Grade Tour

Quick update from the Corendon Summer Tour in Amsterdam.

The USA U18s beat the Netherlands U18s 31-23. In a high-paced game the USA team, still having just assembled a few days ago, were facing a Netherlands team that had spent more time as a unit. The Dutch were also big and physical, but the Americans got stuck in and took the game.

The U20s also won, beating a very tough Belgium team by a wide margin, 55-7.

Update: The USA U23s beat the Brussels Development 22-20 in a very tough game against a physical, slightly older Brussels team. The U23s put Brussels under constant pressure in the opening minutes but couldn't punch it in. Then the tables were turned and it was Brussels in control.

The key try came late in the second half. Brussels was on the attack and the USA U23s were able to intercept a pass and race in from 60 meters. With the conversion that put the USA in the lead. They got another key interception in the second half.

The Americans were defending their 22 for a long period at the end of the second half, and were finally beaten up the middle. But it had taken Brussels a long time, and the U23s held on 22-20.

Also in Amsterdam the Canadian U18s came back to beat a very tough Belgium team 26-20. The scoring was back and forth throughout and Belgium led 20-19 late in the game before a really well-taking counterattack try from Canada won the game.

Still, Canada ended the game defending their tryline.
