As one of the oldest collegiate rugby organizations in the country, established in 1933, the University of Chicago Rugby Football Club has competed in numerous leagues and tournaments, achieving notable victories and earning respect within the rugby community, becoming a well-established collegiate rugby club. The University's rigorous academic environment and competitive spirit contribute to the team's development, attracting athletes who are not only dedicated to rugby but also excel in their studies.
In recent years, the University of Chicago Men's Rugby Team has worked to solidify its presence as a competitive force in collegiate rugby. Reaching the National Collegiate Rugby playoffs in its first season in Division II and finishing 12th in the country, the team is on a convincing journey as it seeks to rise to the top of collegiate rugby.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site position located in Chicago, IL for a Rugby Head Coach with the University of Chicago Men's Rugby Team. The Rugby Head Coach is responsible for leading the rugby team and providing strategic direction for the program. The successful candidate will perform game analysis, develop practice plans, and work with assistant coaches and team members to ensure the team's success. The Head Coach will also communicate with the Student Executive Committee, and the Alumni Association to maintain support for the team. The time commitment for this position is 6 hours per week between January and March and 10-12 hours/week from March-May.
Renewal options for the fall season depending on objectives achieved are also available. Payment will be made per hour, and the salary is very competitive.
