As we mentioned in the Lock article, we have a number of players who would be listed here but end up in the No. 8 list.
The profile of many of the best flankers is a player who is not especially tall, but is hardworking, smart, brave, a ferocious defender, and a leader by example. The players in the photos above and the video below (Dylan McAnulty) are all excellent examples of this.
So in many ways the bar is enormously high for this position. There are a lot of good flankers in the division ... but these guys are great.
