NCR Announces Men's All-Star Regions

The Senior Coaching staff of Nick Whitrow (Belmont Abbey College), Tyree Reed (Queens University of Charlotte), and Harry Higgins (Louisiana State University) are now looking for player recommendations and are seeking coaches who are interested in being part of the developing program. Claude Hughes (University of North Carolina Chapel Hill) is also assisting in the overseeing and talent identification for this joint venture among collegiate programs.

The inaugural All-Stars and Rising Stars tournament will take place the Weekend of January 15th in major league rugby’s Houston Sabercats stadium. Athletes fortunate enough to be selected will get to play against the other regions of NCR, in front of MLR scouts and coaches.

The Southeast region of the National Collegiate Rugby Organization consists of teams from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee. This geographical region will serve as the source of the athletes who will play for The Bears.

Athletes who play in this region for non-NCR college teams are still invited to be nominated for selection, however they must fit the NCRs collegiate eligibility rules. Any interested coaches should email The Bears at ncrbears@gmail.com. The Bears are also now on Instagram @ncrbearsrugby. Players interested should also use one of these two ways to get in touch.

If you are a coach and have players who you believe are of this ability level please get in touch, the link to submit student athletes for consideration can be found here>>
