South Elite Rugby Academy Sets Fall/Winter Schedule

The South Elite Rugby Academy has set their official launch date for the Fall of 2016. September 24th will see the Academy kick off in upstate South Carolina. Open to all rugby players regardless of their home club/state, this overnight academy meets once a month to focus on developing individual skills.

SERA Director of Rugby Nick Whitrow believes that “the camp environment allows for the special bonds and relationships to be created among athletes from other programs”.

Whitrow is joined by several highly qualified resident coaches including Hayden Kane (formerly at RSC academy and RSC selects), Rex Whitrow (former Clemson men’s scrum coach), Chris Caso (former strength and conditioning coach at Life University) Martin Sarkees Jr. (Formerly of Clemson men’s and women’s teams).

There will also be several guest coaches involved at the SERA academy. Several top collegiate coaches have verbally committed and will be announced in the next few weeks.

Camps start at noon on the Saturday of an academy weekend, and dismiss Sunday at noon. There are 6 sessions:

Session 1: September 24th & 25th

Session 2: November 19th & 20th

Session 3: December 3rd & 4th

Session 4: January 7th & 8th 2017

Session 5: January 28th & 29th

Session 6: February 25th & 26th

The total cost if bought as a package is $600 and includes main meals and lodging. The cost to pay month to month is $115 per weekend. Spots are filling fast and more information can be found at the website www.southeliteacademy.com.

Players from all unions are invited to attend however the academy is particularly convenient for those in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.
