South All-Stars Latest - Camp Upcoming

The USA Rugby South select side program is looking ahead to a crucial selection camp and also the RAN Championships in July.

Th South Panthers program will combined with Eagle Impact Rugby Academy to have a combined camp in Chattanooga, Tenn. Sunday, April 30.

EIRA Coach Brendan Keane will run a skills session from 10am to 1pm.

Cost is $50, with a $25 for USA South players who pre-register for the South tryout.

From 2pm to 5:30pm the South coaches will run combine sessions and skill development/assessment drills. 

The camp will be at Montague Park; 1175 East 23rd St.; Chattanooga, TN 37408

The schedule for the Rugby Americas North (RAN) U19 Championships is set for July 13-22, 2017 in Miami, Fla.

The schedule is as follows:

Sat July 15: QF1: USA Sth v Jamaica; QF2: Sudamérica v Cayman Islands

Sun July 16: QF3: Bermuda v Trinidad & Tobago; QF4: Turks & Caicos v Mexico                              

Tues July 18: Winner QF1 v Winner QF2; Loser QF1 v Loser QF2

Wed July 19: Winner QF3 v Winner QF4; Loser QF3 v Loser QF4

Fri July 21: 7th v 8th Play off; 5th v 6th Play off

Sat July 22: 3rd v 4th Place; Final

 

In addition, the women's 10s tournament will be held July 21 and 22.

 

The upcoming South events include:

Saturday & Sunday June 3-4 - South All-State Competition & South Camp - MTSU

This is a major weekend of rugby and very important for players to attend.  On Saturday, we have State All-star Teams that will have multiple scrimmage games as they prepare for the RCT.  Players not on one of these teams that are interested in playing for the South u19 RAN shall meet at the fields at 10:00 Saturday morning.   Players interested to play with the South that are playing on an all-state team will be scouted on Saturday during scrimmages and should plan to stay for South Camp Sunday.

Sunday, June 4th -  South Panther Camp 9:00 – 12:30

 

MTSU Rugby Camp – June 4-8th – We encourage players to attend the MTSU 4-day Live Rugby Camp that follows the South Camp.   For more information go to: http://mtrugbycamps.com/

June 17th USA Rugby RCT Weekend - South High School Regional Cup at Life University (RCT).  High School players are encouraged to play for their High School All-Star Team.  South players not on one of these teams meet at 10:00 on Saturday & Sunday 10:00 – 12:00.  Exact times and location TBD.  Opportunity to attend USA Eagles vs Georgia on Saturday.  


July 1-2 – RAN 15’s Final Preparation Camp – This 2-day camp begins at 10:00 on Saturday with an afternoon session and evening program.  Sunday 9:00-11:00.   Sunday includes 7s preparation for Salt Lake City that will be completed by 12:30.

 

July 13th -22nd - RUGBY AMERICAS NORTH (RAN) U-19 15’s CHAMPIONSHIPS; Miami, FL - The South 24-man roster assembles on Thursday afternoon with a practice session at 6:00.   

 

South Florida High School 7s Camp – During the RAN event a high school 7’s camp will be scheduled to identify players and prepare for Salt Lake City and NAHS7s that continues this fall.

 

August 3-5th, 2017 - Salt Lake City, UT -- NORTH AMERICAN INVITATIONAL 7s: 

The North American High School 7s (NAHS7s) competition ends the inaugural 2017 season at this event.  We are planning on taking Boys & Girls u18 elite and Boys u16 elite.   Additional teams may be added.
