Senior Club Partners with HS All-Star Team

The Rugby Washington Boys and Girls Loggers All-Star Rugby Program has announced a partnership with the Seattle Saracens, one of the nation’s top men’s and women’s clubs in both 15s and 7s, designed to provide coaching and logistical support for elite high school rugby in Washington State.

Seattle Saracens players and coaches are lending their expertise to help improve the level of skill and rugby knowledge of Loggers players and coaches as part of the Saracens’ larger goal of improving the standard of rugby across the Pacific Northwest.

Justin Fitzpatrick, former Irish international prop, former USA Eagles forwards coach and current head coach and director of rugby for Seattle Saracens, will be serving as forwards coach for the boys Loggers Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. Kevin Flynn, former London Irish player, Seattle Saracens player and current Seattle Saracens President, will serve as backs coach for both boys teams. Dan Trierweiler, current Seattle Saracens player, will assist with the forwards for both boys teams.

Former USA Eagle and current Seattle Saracens player Sharon Blaney is the Director of the Girls Loggers program. Blaney and current Seattle Saracens players Marty Quick, Kellen Gordon, former USA Eagle Carrie White and Carly MacKinnon make up the Girls coaching staff.

“We are very excited to be able to partner with such a tremendous club as the Seattle Saracens,” said Boys Loggers Director Steve Brennan.  “The opportunity for our boys to learn from the caliber of coaches like Justin Fitzpatrick, Sharon Blaney and the others is tremendous. It will benefit not only the  our collegiate and men’s and women’s club across the Northwest over time.”
