Schedule for 2023 LA Sevens Set

LA Sevens is February 25-26.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.– In just a few weeks, the world of rugby is coming back to Los Angeles as the HSBC LA Sevens returns February 25th and 26th.

With the recent announcement of both the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup both coming to the USA in 2031 (Men’s) and 2033 (Women’s), and coupled with rugby being one of the sports of the Olympic Games in 2028, rugby is primed for massive growth in America in what experts are referring to it as a “golden decade of rugby in the U.S.”  The weekend will also feature broadcast coverage across multiple NBC platforms, including live television coverage on CNBC.

World Rugby Chairman, Sir Bill Beaumont, said: “We are very excited to see the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series return to Los Angeles again this February. We know that there is a huge appetite for rugby in the USA, and with the USA now hosting Rugby World Cup 2031 and 2033 and LA 2028 Summer Olympic Games, there’s no better opportunity than the HSBC LA Sevens for us to show the world what rugby in the USA is all about.”

The 16 National Teams in this year’s HSBC LA SEVENS will include: USA, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Spain, Canada, Argentina, Kenya, Japan, Australia, Fiji, Samoa, New Zealand, Chile, Uruguay and South Africa. The head-to-head pool play begins on Saturday with knock-out play on Sunday. The match schedule can be found here>>

The event will include an International Food, Music & Drink Festival that will showcase authentic cultural acts from each country features on two main stages. The weekend will feature music, food, and drink from around the world all taking place among an incredible festive atmosphere with fans dressing up in colorful and creative Fancy Dress, and will take place in and around Dignity Health Sports Park during the event.

Another unique component of the two-day event will be the grassroots community tournament, The Los Angeles Invitational, which will take place on the outer fields around the stadium, with 200 community teams playing in co-ed divisions of youth, high-school, college and adult clubs. The HSBC LA SEVENS is expected to draw a weekend attendance of over 45,000 international rugby fans.
