The Southern California Interscholastic Rugby Federation is about to end its Christmas/New Year break and get back at it, and right now it seems to be a St. Augustine and St. John Bosco on a collision.

Dec 8

St. Augustine 70-0 Fallbrook

San Clemente 54-10 Mira Costa

Torrey Pines 19-16 La Costa Canyon

Dec 15

Mira Costa 5-57 St. Augustine

San Clemente 14-16 La Costa Canyon

Torrey Pines 12-45 St. John Bosco

Dec 21-22

St. Augustine 45-24 La Costa Canyon

Mira Costa 50-12 Fallbrook

St. John Bosco 52-14 San Clemente

St. John Bosco has crushed their two opponents, dominating up front and using their forwards to make life miserable for the opposition. But it's not Bosco in 1st place, it's St. Augustine. The Saints have won comfortably in all three games, including 45-24 against a La Costa Canyon team that has plenty of potential.

St Augustine beat La Costa Canyon on December 22. The Saints were successful in playing a territory game early and pressured LCC from the start. Pressure and smart field position play saw St. Augustine go up 31-0 by halftie. The game opened up later in the second half and La Costa Canyon enjoyed some scoring opportunities, and went over four times. The Saints were led by Aidan Konja, who scored two tries and converted two in the 45-24 victory.

Next up will be four games January 12, with Cathedral Catholic finally able to get leagues games in.
