Logan then nudged his side further ahead with two penalty kicks to make it 13-5 at halftime.

The second half was clow going as both defenses held strong, but 13 minutes in Stanford center Louis Trevor scored to bring his side closer 13-5. But UCSC answered through scrumhalf Martin Guitierrez, only to see Stanford lock Chrisitan Bader trundle over. Hooker Diego Burgos converted and suddenly it was a three-point game against at 20-17.

Chico State threw everything they had at Sac State in the second half and they got a penalty goal from Silveira and a try from center Enrique Martinez, but that was it.
