PlayRugby, Pelham Win In NY 7s 4th Leg

The New York State HS 7s wrapped up its fourth week of competition building toward this coming weekend's final event.

The back-and-forth rivalry between Pelham HS and PlayRugby Academy continues, and this past weekend PlayRugby took the Boys Varsity division, garnering some payback for the prevous week's Pelham victory.

Pelham fell to Keio/FASNY in pool play for the first time, and that set up a semifinal against PlayRugby. Pelham took an early lead but in a reverse of the previous week's final, PlayRugby roared back to win 26-19. In the other semifinal Keio/FASNY beat New Rochelle. PlayRugby then defeated Keio/FASNY to win the tournament.

Next week should be interesting as both Pelham and PlayRugby are suffering from a number of injuries. Dylan Lewis has been very good for Pelham, and they've needed him as he is the only starter who has played the entire fall.

For PlayRugby, Mike Greene had another excellent tournament and both he and Levani Mgaloblishvili have been regular starts for the team.

4th Leg Order Of Finish:
1 - Play Rugby USA Academy
2 - Keio Academy/French American School NY
3 - Pelham
4 - New Rochelle
