NSCRO Final Four This Weekend

Claremont Colleges joins LSUA, Tufts, and Xavier in Glendale.

The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) final four is this weekend in Glendale, Colo.

LSU-Alexandria will take on Tufts and Claremont Colleges will face Xavier University in the semis on Saturday.

LSU-Alexandria, a varsity program but a small one, defeated Valdosta State and Eckerd to win the Southern Qualifier. That moved them on to the Mid-Altantic/South Regionals where they took care of Elon 41-10 and Loyola 26-15 in the final to advance to the national final weekend.

Tufts won the Northeast Qualifier in November over Ithaca, and then beat SUNY Plattsburgh and Maine to win the Northeast Regional.

Xavier, which was in DII last year before the Great Lakes Conference reduced in size, defeated Eastern Michigan and Baldwin-Wallace to win the Great Lakes NSCRO conference. In the Central Regionals they edged UW-Stevens Point 31-29, and then beat Southern Indiana to book a place in Glendale.

Claremont Colleges beat Santa Rosa JC to advance to the PacWest Regional, where they beat Dallas and Cal Maritime to make it to the final four.
