South Meck, Hough, Marvin Ridge, and Sun Valley all won in North Carolina's school season over the weekend.

We go into a bit more detail about South Meck's victory here: South Meck Rolls On in North Carolina

Marvin Ridge won officially 35-0 over a solid Myers Park team to move to 3-1.

“It was important to start the new year with a statement win against a strong Myers Park team and the boys delivered,” said hooker David Starr.

Prop Aidan McFarland echoed that sentiment, praising the Marvin Ridge effort in the pack.

“The forwards fronted up really well; we were much better connected tonight and our lineout functioned very well.”

Marvin Ridge dominated the early stages of the game with two tries from center Jake Schumacher, fullback Aidan McLaughlin, center Cash Gilbert, and winger Matthew Aman.

Once the 35-point lead was established, both sides ran on the changes.

Marvin Ridge's Tier 2 team beat Ascend Academy on a soggy pitch after a heavy rain the night before. Ascend ran out to a 10-0 lead but tries from freshman Bryce Rozema at lock, Jake Robbins at center, and wing Matt Feeley put Marvin Ridge ahead and they held on from there to win 19-15.

“Really pleased with the win," said Marvin Ridge Tier 2 captain Zane Schumacher. "We struggled in the first half against the heavier and more experienced Ascend pack but we were able to make adjustments. We have great pace in our back line so it was important to trust our structure and catch/pass skills even in the muddy conditions.”

Marvin Ridge's Tier 2 side is now 3-0.

Hough won big over Clayton. Officially it was 35-0 but Hough's offense was clicking. Center Beyond Bembry scored five tries in the game, continuing his try-scoring form this season, while No. 8 Kai Campbell added three.  Scrumhalf Porter Kuebler and flyhalf Zach Colson were ecellent together and when Colson was subbed off fullback Ma Colson moved into the #10 spot and did well also—the two brothers were almost perfect on their goalkicking. Lock Kaden Craddock was a force up front.

Sun Valley moved to 1-1 after a close win over Charlotte Catholic.
