In a tight and fairly dramatic clash between two very old rivals, Navy edged Penn State 24-20 in a non-conference game.
Navy’s front rowers Woody Dewing and CJ Burke front up nicely against a good Penn State pack, and back rower Kevin Kirchmer continued to cruse havoc, as he has through this winter. Trye Fullilove was a sidestepping phenomenon for the usually straight-ahead Midshipmen.
This was a good Varsity Cup warmup for both teams, and the latest in a series of good results for Navy.
