MLR Loses One More, Down to 8
MLR Loses One More, Down to 8
As hinted at in the below video, Major League has now dropped to eight teams.
The Miami Sharks, two days after their CEO Milagros Cubelli was named Executive of the Year, multiple sources are telling GRR or reporting elsewhere that the Sharks are out of the league and ceasing operations.
That drops the league down to eight, which, as stated in the video, might well be the ideal number. Those eight teams are:
New England, Old Glory DC, Anthem RC, Chicago Hounds, Utah Warriors, Houston Sabercats, Seattle Seawolves, and California Legion (merged from LA and San Diego).
Certainly having eight teams simplifies the schedule—the league had to manage with 11 teams last year, which is arguably the worst number.
Now, over 100 players will be pondering whether to look for another roster spot or play elsewhere, and a Draft is coming up that will bring in 24 players to specific draft spots and well over 100 hoping to latch onto a team as undrafted free agents.
