We have about 70 teams in action in Men's D2 college this weekend.
Among them are at least 23 ranked teams. Some of those, such as #1-ranked IUP or #9 Villanova are playing D1 programs (Villanova's opponent, Army, is not their front line D1A lineup).
Matchups to Watch
School of Mines vs Montana State. This could be a really good indicator of who is the frontrunner in the High Peaks.
(Side note: If you haven't read Neal Stephenson's excellent book Reamde, you should. The bad guy in the book went to Colorado School of Mines, something you don't see in every book.)
Northern Lights, especially Minnesota-Duluth at MSU Mankato. Same deal as the High Peaks; we are looking for a league game to nudge us in a direction.
NC State at UNC Wilmington. This is definitely a rankings-affecting game, with #20 at #7.
Loyola at Northern Iowa. Loyola is undergoing a coaching shift so a performance here would really be good for them. UNI is expected to maintain their solid performances from last year and they return some key attacking threats.
