As we unleash the GRR NCR D1 rankings we fully recognize that this is way too early.

Having said that, we feel pretty confident about the top eight. After that we figure that #9 through about #15 could all be shuffled around—there's not much between those teams right now. And that's illustrated by the fact that #12 is Notre Dame, which just beat Michigan by four points, and Michigan we have at #16. We can be fairly confident at the moment that Notre Dame is ahead of Michigan, but not by much. So that strongly implies that the teams ranked around the Fighting Irish are pretty close (in our opinion) right now.

The same can be said of the 16-23 or so teams. For the most part they are teams we're waiting on something more than preseason for them.

So all of that sets up the upcoming weekend in which we see several matches that will tell us just how wrong we are. These matchups include:

#12 Notre Dame at #11 Walsh
#10 Kutztown at #13 Thomas More
#18 Iowa Central at #8 Southern Nazarene
#2 Queens vs top D1A team Navy
#5 Marian vs #3 St. Bonaventure
#15 AIC at #6 Siena
#4 Dartmouth at #17 Fordham

Those games should shake things up.

Remember! We are ranking only NCR D1 teams here. We are not ranking the D1A teams here. So you might say ... how come we don't see Ohio State here, or Mount St. Mary's?? Because they are D1A. We rank them in a different ranking.
