Men DII College Games This Week

Men's DII College action gets going with as many as 16 games on the slate.

We say all of this advisedly as questions remain about how numbers look for various teams. It could well be that we wait until October to see some DII teams fully able to compete. We'll keep an eye on this but we do know that at least one game will likely be postponed because of lack of numbers for one of the competitors.

After beating Michigan, a couple of weeks ago, Adrian College now faces another Big 10 opponent in Michigan State. MSU will likely be a tougher proposition.

UMS&T seems to be rebuilding nicely after the shutdown, but will UMKC be able to say the same? Grand Valley State is a perennial leader in the Great Lakes, and host Oakland this weekend, but, again, there are questions about numbers.

Wheeling is, like Michigan State, not a DII team, but we list their game here because of IUP. Coming off a nice 31-12 win over Robert Morris last week, IUP will have a stern test with Wheeling, but we're very interested to see how this pans out. Both could benefit in the rankings.

Another game to watch is an Allegheny Conference clash between Alderson Broaddus and West Virginia. WVU lost a close one to Kent State a week ago, but they've got the numbers and should compete well with the Battlers. This is A-B's conference debut and they make it with only five players who are not freshmen or sophomores—Matthew Cogar, Finniare Lee-Edwards, Chance Thames-Plummer, Tyler Ichimura, and Sahle Theodros. Only Ichirmura is a senior.
