Men DI College Rankings Spring 2017 Week #12

Playoffs often force some serious moves in the Men's All-DI playoffs, and we're right into playoffs now.

Given that DI-level teams have three (three!) postseasons to keep track of, we are, of course, still trying to figure out who would beat whom were they to face off.

This week, the top end of the rankings doesn't move because those teams had byes or weeks off. But lower down, the DIAA playoffs shook things up, and so did the Varsity Cup. Utah Valley jumped in thanks to their win over UCLA. Florida State moved up, and their coattails dragged UCF along for the ride.

We seriously thought about North Texas and Brown. Had UNT beaten Brown on Sunday, then they'd likely be in. But losing to Brown is a tough one. Brown has done really well this spring, but we still feel they're comparable to Harvard, and Harvard gave up 100 points over the weekend. It's tough on Brown. They could well be a top-50 team, and we'll entertain a campaign in their favor, but finding a place for an Ivy League team aside from Dartmouth is difficult.
