Men D1AA Spring 2025 Rankings Final Week
This entire winter and spring we ranked St. Thomas at #2 and San Diego at #1, until this final week.
We almost had that ranking this week, too, save for an astonishing final play of the CRAA D1AA final. So we move St. Thomas to #1 and San Diego to #2.
We do shuffle some other teams around. SHSU beat Iowa State in the 3rd-4th game and we move them up. But for us the key move is Florida State. The Seminoles produced two very competitive losses to St. Thomas and, comparing to everyone else, we think they did really well. American River's rather large loss to USD moves them down.
Boise State did beat Western Washington, but in that game WWU had already secured a spot in their playoff with USD. So we take that result with a grain of salt. However, overall the NCRC got a boost from WWU's performance, and they move up a bit.
Overall this has been a very interesting D1AA season. Next year will be more competitive. We will also likely see some adjustments, what with Lonestar comitting to a fall-only season and going with NCR, and, likely, a change in the CRAA playoff pathway.
