Majestics Makes a Move in Utah 7s

After an opening week that was somewhat muddled, the Utah Youth Rugby Girls Fall 7s season has clarified a little with Majestics getting some separation from the competition.

In Week 1 Wasatch/Provo and Majestics both went 2-1 and United was a very close 1-2. But this week Majestics went 3-0, beating Wasatch/Provo 21-10 and 22-7, and United 31-12 to now sit at 4-1, well ahead of the rest.

"Majestics has been very fortunate to attract a lot of talented young ladies," said Head Coach Angela Tuiaki. And it's that depth of talent that is coming to the fore.

Scrumhalf Lilliani Wolfgramm runs the attack and keep them on-task. Her understanding of the game allowed her to keep every player focused on her role.

"She always has her eyes open to the field," said Tuiaki. "She is sharp at her calls and her IQ of the game gives us an upper hand."

It's like having a coach on the field.

Nala Mayorga has been excellent.

"She is a double-edged sword," said Tuiaki. "She attacks every play, consistently knows how to progress the game forward. Her confidence especially shows on her defense which show how impeccable she is. Nala also plays soccer which contributes a lot to her fitness."

Harmony Hopoate is very quick and supremely elusive and she just opens up the game. Meanwhile Jasmin Fehoko leads the defense with her power and her strenth, and she's quick too.

"She doesn’t back down from anything; Great listener and translates to everything on the pitch," said Tuiaki.

Along with knowledgeable and multi-skilled Marley Larkin, quick and elusive Alopa Nau, who is also surprisingly physical, and detailed and precise Drina Fehoko all are part of a talented group.

"What we do to improve each week is we recognize we are still learning," said Tuiaki. "Rugby at Majestics is a revolving door; we continuously seek new and better ways to play and then we teach and we try and execute it to the best of our knowledge. We just try and do the basic things better than others. we are a repetitive structured team always looking for ways to level up."
