MAC Latest: Big Wins For BGSU, IUPUI, Louisville

Louisville, IUPUI, and Bowling Green all won convincing victories in the opening weekend of the Mid-American Conference in Men's DIAA rugby action.

Defending USA Rugby Fall DIAA champion Bowling Green cruised by Dayton, as expected, winning 67-5. Less expected, perhaps, was IUPUI's debut in the conference, a 38-0 shutout of Cincinnati.

Captain Levi Hawk, who plays No. 8, was very strong on defense and with the ball in hand. On attack, outside center Seth Bronger broke off several long runs and set up several IUPUI tries.

And Louisville slammed Ohio 52-15. Isaac Bales scored two tries and was player of the game.

Next up next week, Cincinnati takes on Ohio, Louisville faces Dayton, and Miami of Ohio takes on Western Michigan in the conference openers for both of those teams.
