Central Washington prop forward Mae Sagapolu is a finalist for the 2021 MA Sorensen Award as the top women's collegiate rugby player in the USA.

A powerful scrummager and imposing ballcarrier, Sagapolu hits the rucks and makes the tackles but she is also a great passer and intelligent rugby player overall.

"Mae has all the attributes you look for in a tighthead prop, and to add to that she has skills that few backs possess with her pace and catch/pass," said CWU Head Coach Trevor Richards. "Seeing a front-rower get nominated for the award shows how much of an impact Mae has on the team and the game. Just spend some time with her at training and you will soon find out that she is never content with 'good enough' and she'll only rest when it's 'great.' We are so proud of the work she has put in every day this season and are so glad she is finally getting the recognition she deserves."
