Lindenwood University of St. Charles, Mo. and the Mid-South Conference in DIA has announced that Joshy Macy will be the team's new Head Coach.

Macy, who led AIC for several years, where he compiled a 57-11 record and won three ECRC conference titles, has already made the move from Massachusetts to Missouri and is on the job. Rob Guiry, who was an assistant at American International, will be the interim Head Coach at AIC.

Macy has worked for USA Rugby as a coach and scout with the All American program and also at a variety of camps in the Northeast.

"I am not looking to just go in and do what the previous coach did," said Macy, who knows and respects former Lindenwood coach JD Stephenson, who stepped down earlier this summer to pursue other opportunities. "I know the ceiling for Lindenwood is really high, and I will look to make improvements."

With new leadership in the Lindenwood Athletic Department, and Macy having been at AIC for several years, and with his wife, Lorrie, able to make her career fit the move, "it was the right time. St. Charles is an awesome little town, and this move is a good shot in the arm for me, too."

Lindenwood Director of Student Life Sports, Mike Elam, said in a statement: "I'm happy to have Josh take over our men's rugby program. He has a nice combination of coaching and playing experience and a great history of building and developing rugby players and teams.  Our program is already very established, but that background will allow for a smooth transition and continued success for our boys on the pitch."

Macy informed AIC and the players some time ago that he was moving in, and he said that AIC remains committed to rugby and to the program. AIC is expected to conduct search for a new permanent Head Coach shortly.
