With news that tickets are now on sale for the LA 7s, we now can give you details on the LA Invitational, which is back for 2022 as well.

The LA 7s will be held Mach 5 and 6, with the LAI held March 4 and 5.

The March 4 games will be at at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, Calif., which is where the first day of competition was held in 2020. The March 5 games will be at the fields surrounding Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., allowing competitors to walk from their games into the stadium to see the World Series tournament.

At least 20 brackets of competition will be part of the LAI. There’ll be coed competition for youth teams U8, U10, and U12. There will be Boys and Girls brackets for U14s and U16s, as well as U18 Elite and U18 Open.

There will be college tournaments for men and for women, and the same for adult brackets. There will also be Old Boys 15s games.

The Men’s Elite bracket is apparently already filling up as teams that were contacted early have already committed. This bracket includes several well-known and high-level professional and semi-professional teams, from national team developmental sides to well-known touring teams.

There will also be Fit Touch games, that is, serious touch rugby, and Beach Rugby, which will be held on the beach, not at the Irvine and Carson fields.
