Knightmare Boys Rugby improved to 8-1 in Rugby Pennsvylania HS 7s action after running the table over the weekend.

"The team has really bought in to the coaches’ and captains’ expectations and the goal of improving every day," said Coach Aaron Davis. "On the pitch, they show discipline and don’t get down on each when a mistake happens. Several of the guys have worked hard at increasing their rugby IQ and are instilling that in others."

It was an impressive showing for Knightmare and put them on top of the Rugby PA standings. The first week's top team, LaSalle, did not play this past week, but clearly those two teams will meet up at some point.

Leading the way for Knightmare is senior prop Tony Reid, one of the team's captains and a defensive powerhouse.

He understand the value of good technique combined with physicality and that makes him a better tackler, and his rucking and jackling are excellent.

Sophomore flyhalf Dom Pepe joins Reid as the captain and he is an outstanding playmaker. Mason Scarborough plays scrumhalf and sweeper and has all the skills—attack, defense, kicking, and speed. Both Scarborough and Pepe have been consistent scoring threats.

In nine games Pepe has scored 14 tries and kicked 27 conversions for 124 points, or almost 13 points per game, which is astonishing in 7s. Scarborough is almost as dangerous with 11 tries and 12 conversions (79 points).

Rounding out the leading players is hooker/center Noah Stock. New to rugby he seems to have taken to the sport well and his physicality in the tackle sets the tone.

Next up for Rugby PA Knightmare Rugby hosts the next leg on October 2. they have a two game lead over Downingtown, who are 6-3. But along with LaSalle it's worth pointing out that Berks is 4-1 and didn't play last week.
