Girls fall 7s is heating up; here's a quick rundown.

Knightmare Rugby came out on top in Rugby Pennsylvania's opening weekend, going 4-0 on a day where no other team won more than two.

Chasing Knightmare were Downingtown (2-2), Doylestown (2-1-1), Wes Carroll out of Maryland (2-1-1), and West Pittsburgh (2-2).

We had a good day, especially for so early in the season and versus some really good competition," said Knightmare Head Coach Joe Capp. "There's going to be some great 7s played this fall with this level of competition."

Leading the way for Knightmare are Bella Vogel and Bre Wertman, who put in major minutes and played at a high level. Capp said he doesn't want to lean on a small number of players as that's not the goal of the season.

"Our main focus for this fall is building depth, getting the fundamentals right, and enjoying the competition," he said.

Next up in PA in this coming SUnday in Downingtown.

In the Colorado Interscholastic Rugby Association, Summit, not surprisingly, has taken control. After a series of small gamedays in the league, Summit hosted a full-on tournament over the weekend, and beat Evergreen 38-5and Regis 31-5 in pool play.

Summit went on to cruise by East HS in the semis 53-0, with Paola Arredondo and Olivia Lyman scoring three each. In the final against rivals Monarch HS, Summit, led by Joselin Roque, won comfortably 45-5.

This is a growing league and 18 teams played in multiple divisions on the day. Summit ran out two squads, with their Gold team taking 3rd. For more on this tournament and direct quotes from players see the Summit Daily article by Cody Jones here>>

In Utah it's a tight Tier 1 with Wasatch/Provo, Majestics, and United all trading tries. Majestics beat Wasatch/Provo but lost to United.

Then United ended up losing to Wasatch/Provo twice.

In the Tier 2, Majestics 2 won all three games comfortably allowing just four tries and scored 17.
