Harrow Continues Winning Ways in Cali

The Harrow School is on tour in the USA working with Varsity Travel and continued their winning ways in California.

ImageThe storied English school players a Northern California all-star team this past week and won 49-10. It was a good performance from the NorCal squad in that they actually scored on Harrow, and in fact it was relatively close at halftime. This despite the fact that the NorCal team had some players touring with the HS All Americans, and were missing a few other previous starters.

They were incredible, I believe the score was 49-10, 27-10 at half.  We could have kept it respectably closer a month ago with the side that went to Oregon, but they were just too fast, fit, and skilled for us to handle.  Also we hadn't practiced since Oregon so had 7 new guys and were missing the 5 HSAA players and another 3 starters who couldn't make it.

Jon Straka, who was part of the NorCal staff, said Harrow was "incredible."

Then Harrow went on to play in Southern California against an Eagle Impact Rugby Academy squad that also was missing players off touring Canada. Harrow punished SoCal errors but it was close early on - the EIRA SoCal team led 7-0 and also 12-5 before Harrow turned it on and won 45-12.

Justus Tavai of the SoCal players. Harrow just moved the ball too quickly and played with great cohesion.
