Gamebreakers Men DII College Sept 28-29

It was a weekend of tight games and a few upsets. Here's a look at some of the best performers in Men's DII college rugby.

Do you think a player deserves some recognition? Let us know (and if you send a decent photo, that makes us a LOT happier)

Zachary Bastres, Northern Colorado

After scoring six tries three weeks ago, Bastres added an even more important try in a 7-7 tie with Western Colorado.

Paul Santandrea, Western New England

The WNE flyhalf scored a try and created another as he led a solid offensive performance in a 33-20 win over Endicott.

Rhys Smith, Iowa Centra CC

Smith was a perfect 6-for-6 in goalkicking, including five penalty goals, as Iowa Central defeated Notre Dame College 22-20. Without Smith’s accuracy, the Tritons would surely have lost.

Louis Saladino, UMass Dartmouth

Three tries in the space of 20 minutes from the Corsairs inside center put the game out of reach against Bridgewater State and set up a 51-0 shutout for UMD.

Wade McGilvray, Massachusetts Maritime

McGilvray plays No. 8 for the Buccaneers, and with five minutes left and the score 17-17 against Stonehill, he went over for the game-winner as Mass Maritime won 24-17.

Adam Lukasiewicz, USMMA, Kings Point

The Kings Point scrumhalf was a dynamo keeping the attack going, working with the backs and forwards, providing secure service, and communicating as the US Merchant Marine Academy edged a very tough RPI team 33-31.

Joe Tarantola, Marist

Tarantola scored two tries and two assists as Marist defeated Seton Hall 64-0 in the Tri-State Conference.

Keegan Bliss, Vermont

The UVM center scored two tries and four conversions, logging 18 points in a 38-0 shutout of Sacred Heart.

Kaleb Boleyn, Northern Iowa

The UNI hooker has assumed a key leadership role as he has whipped the team’s forward pack into shape. UNI beat UIC 48-5 last week and is now 3-0 in the Great Midwest.
