Gamebreakers this week include some multi-try-scorers and tough guys up front—our best performances from DIA and DIAA this past weekend.

Mike Matarazzo, Notre Dame

Playing No. 8 for the Irish, Matarazzo was an imposing presence for the Irish was tey won two games this past weekend over Syracuse and Michigan.

Liam Nahill, Maryland

The Terrapins flanker sparks a comeback for Maryland that turned a 17-10 deficit into a 49-36 victory.

Joey Hobbs, Navy

The Navy center has been brilliant all fall, getting through the gain line, scoring key tries, and playing solid defense. He did all of this as Navy beat Penn State 38-12. (Pictured at left, top. Colleen McCloskey photo)

Will Chevalier, Indiana

A playmaking center, the freshman helped spark Indiana to a huge win over Purdue.

Marcus Montgomery, Salisbury

The Salisbury wing scored four tries as the Sharks beat Georgetown 88-14.

Zach Marsh, IUPUI

We detailed this earlier this week: IUPUI Player Beats Health Scare To Star For Team. Marsh came back from a worrying injury to score four tries for IUPUI this past weekend. (Pictured at left, 2nd from top.)

Dan Hanson, Louisville

The rookie lock forward controlled the physical battle and scored twice as Louisville beat Bowling Green.

Christopher Heyman, Colorado State

The Ram wing scored two key tries in the first half against Utah Valley, turning a 7-7 game into a 19-7 CSU lead. Colorado State would hold on 26-21.

Luke Persanis, Delaware

Delaware shifted its focus a little bit and Persanis, returning to scrumhalf, was excellent in scoring and setting up scores for the Blue Hens as they defeated Rowan in MARC action.

Paul Appleby, University at Buffalo

The UB scrumhalf sparked a key win over Colgate in Liberty Conference action. (Pictured above,

Koby Hinnant, Air Force

Hinnant scored the Air Force’s first try in both halves to spark Air Force to a 44-10 victory over Utah Valley University.

Luis Sitama, AIC

In a losing effort, Sitama was hugely impressive at center, pushing Iona’s defense on their heels and making ground with ball in hand.

Nandipha Dube, Iona

The Iona prop set the tone in a very physical clash of conference undefeateds as Iona beat AIC. (Photo Carol D'Allara, pictured at left 3rd from top.)

Jean Eric van der Elst, Syracuse

With two tries on Saturday in a win over Albany, van der Elst has continued a torrid strike rate whether playing wing or fullback. In 17 games for Syracuse van der Elst has scored 24 tries.

Larry Williams, Army

Two tries were nice but the West Point hooker led in the set piece and around the field in a key confidence-boosting win for the Black Knights over Mary Washington.

D’Montae Noble, Kutztown

In Kutztown’s rout of St. Bonaventure, Noble, playing fullback, ran in three tries and was a constant scoring threat.

Lonnie Buchanan, Illinois

The Illinois No. 8 led from the front as the Illini defeated Minnesota 39-5 to improve to 3-3 in the Big Ten conference.
