Gamebreakers, Boys HS Rugby

There were many and varied big performances among boys HS players this past weekend—here are some of the best.

Saia Tuivailala, Fort Hunt

The inside center started his first varsity game, against Aspetuck, and was a force, making ground with the ball and playing staunch defense in difficult circumstances.

Tiave Watts, St. James Academy

In a game where St. James won comfortably over Park Hill, Watts was impressive running a potent St. James offense.

Quaid Hunt, East HS

East beat Regis Jesuit in large part because of their tight five. Lock Hunt was a big part of that, crashing through defenders, scoring, working hard in support, and making key tackles.

Skylawn Feletoa, Woodlands

A big win for Woodlands over Strake Jesuit and Feletoa scored three tries in the effort.

Finlay Mitchell, Charlotte Cardinals

Mitchell was at the center of an impressive Cardinals showing at the Carolina Ruggerfest, leading his side to a 3-0 record.

Sederik Saxon, Charlotte Tigers

Another big lock doing big work, Saxon was a major ground-gainer for the Tigers, anchored the defense, and even took penalty taps.

Noah Norris, St. Ignatius

In the St. Ignatius shutout win over Royal Irish, Norris made his first A-side start and led the team in work rate, hitting the most rucks, being among the top tacklers, and generally getting a flanker's unglamorous work done in a big victory.

Kaden Williamson, St. Edward

The St. Edward No. 8 was a tough customer on attack and defense in a close loss to Royal Irish and a big win over Walsh Jesuit.

Hayden Bullota, De La Salle

Normally a fullback, Bullota was called in to play scrumhalf for De La Salle in the Northern California School final, and helped lead an impressive DLS attack in a 45-10 win over Jesuit.

George Vezina, Germantown

In case you were wondering, yes he is related to the famous hockey goalie Georges Vezina, after whom the NHL's goalie of the year award is named. This George (no S at the end) was very smooth in running Georgetown's attack and as goalkicker and a try-scorer in Germantown's 32-6 win over SLUH.

David Kendig  Vienna

The hardworking flanker scored a try and was enormously active in Vienna's win over West End.

Cole McCracken, Granite Bay

The young prop had a huge day hitting rucks and making tackles as Granite Bay beat SFGG.

Logan Ballinger, Boca Raton

Ballinger's kicking, pace, and hustle helped secure a tight win over Cardinal Gibbons

Kieran O'Meara, Eastside Lions

The center was one of the main strike runners for the Lions as they beat their Oregonian counterparts, Eastside Tsunami.

Bailey Black, Raptor Rugby

In the Raptor win over Riverdale Black led the team in tackles.

Martin Gentile, Key Biscayne

After an impressive showing at the Carolina Ruggerfest, Gentile was a key attacking threat.

Jacob Marsh, Torrey Pines

The TP prop scored a try and set the platform as Torrey Pines won the SoCal school final.
