Gamebreakers All Over The Map This Week

Sebastien Kennett logged 16 points in a Phoenix Alpharetta win.

More leagues are opening up and that means more chances to be a Gamebreaker.

Here are who put their hands up this week in Boys HS rugby.

Jacob Landry, Jude Stender, Xavier Hamilton and Joseph Kerstiens, Gregory the Great

OK, so four players this time, we don't care, that's who we have. These four led a massive team effort, especially on defense, to hold Cumberland Valley tryless and win 34-9.

Joe Fabini, Bishop Dwenger

The captain and the leader of the forwards, Fabini set the tone, kept the pack moving, and scored two tries as Dwenger beat Penn HS.

Ryan Anderson, Moeller HS

Fullback Anderson scored a nicely-taken try on a long run to help his team beat St. Xavier, but more importantly he put in some key defensive players, not least of which was when St. Xavier blocked a clearance kick. The St. Xavier chansers came in to gather the ball and Anderson somehow made the tackle at the tryline and held the ball up in-goal, saving a try.

Jacob Schmidt, Brother Martin

Playing prop, Schmidt was a powerful force in the Brother Martin forward attack. He also scored a try while setting the platform for a Brother Martin victory over St. Paul's.

Tanner Quackenbush, Royal Irish

With almost no time left Quackenbush scored a try in the corner to turn a 19-17 deficit to Aspetuck into a 22-19 Royal Irish victory.

Emerson Vargas and Wes Piggins, Naples

The center pairing of Vargas and Piggins both scored tries in their semifinal win over Jacksonville, and were the linchpin of the defensive effort as Naples held a very dangerous Wolverines side to only 19 points.

Joseph Navas, Cardinal Gibbons

The Gibbons captain led from the front as Gibbons hammered a very good Boca team in the Florida semifinals.

Sebastian Kennett, Phoenix Alpharetta

Kennett played solid defense, controlled the flow of the game, was perfect kicking from the tee, and scored a try as Alpharetta beat Germantown.

Pearson and Carson Hill, Aspetuck

Despite losing a close one, the brothers Hill sparkled at flyhalf and scrumhalf respectively, testing Royal Irish and putting their side in position to win.

Nick Trout, Pendleton

The Pendleton scrumhalf scored 16 points from four conversions, a penalty goal, and a try as he helped his side beat Carmel in Indiana.

Steve Chapman, Georgetown Prep

The Georgetown Prep lock scored a try and worked the set piece well as his side beat Salesianum.

Diohnny Ruiz, Berks

Ruiz scored three tries, including the game-winner, against West Shore.
