Division Deciders Loom In SoCal

Twenty-four teams are expected to suit up this weekend in the Southern California Boys Varsity White league, and this is really the first big weekend of action.

Los Angeles Division

Saint Anthony will have to rebound from forfeiting last weekend, but will have a tough day against a very talented Wilson HS. Warren takes on California as both tries to chase Wilson. But Wilson's opening win last week makes them to team to beat.

OC Coast

Corona Del Mar started brilliantly last week, and now have to take on a big, athletic, hard-nosed Servite team. This could be the battle for the division right here. Servite has been idle since mid-December. 

Los Alamitos will just be hitting its stride and faces a competitive San Juan Stallions team. Marina HS plays a non-league team against Roosevelt. 

OC Inland

Norco is still a bit of a question-mark and will have to answer against a solid Corona Centennial team. Great Oak takes on Murrieta Valley. Murrieta has been pretty dominant so far.

So far MV has scored 335 points and allowed just 12 in four games. The team has hit the ground running and their unity is impressive. 

Head Coach Sean Hannon called the start "remarkable and surreal. I had a three year plan but never thought I would see this kind of success."

Joseph Vanbuskirk, Shawn Kealoha, Jaden Dylan, and Luke Shull have anchored a strong forward effort, while Asher Hannon leads the team in tres and points and Keegan Hannon has also been effective on attack. Marcus Nguyen has been a beast in the backline.

SD North

Carlsbad and Alta Vista meet up after a long layoff. The Jaguars and Rancho Bernardo the same. Jaguars and Carlsbad are each 1-0 and might well be the teams to clash for the division.

SD South

Del Norte takes on Patrick Henry, Point Loma faces Westview, and La Jolla plays Mater Dei. Mater Dei and La Jolla are both sitting on a league win and this could well be the game that decides who is at the top.
