The teams left in the Men's DII college competition are getting fewer and fewer as the conference playoffs progress; here's what happened Saturday.

After having their semifinal wins vacated because of another team's player registration problems, Villanova and Lehigh both won games and are in the MARC final on Sunday. Villanova beat Scranton 62-22 while Lehigh had to battle to beat York 32-24.

There weren't any real surprises in the Great Midwest. Wisconsin-Whitewater beat Illinois-Chicago 79-10. Fullback Jordan Kane was very effective for the Warhawks, inserting into the line all over the place and causing UIC problems. Marquette was behind 10-5 well into the second half against Northern Iowa, and then poured it on to win 19-10. Illinois State beat Northern Michigan 24-12, while Loyola-Chicago produced perhaps the only upset, beating Minnesota-Duluth 27-17.

Missouri S&T beat Southern Illinois and Pitt State beat St. Louis University in the Gateway semis to move on. Those teams will play in the final on Sunday. Norwich won a semi in the Rugby Northeast, beating Providence 60-5. The other semi is held Sunday, Bentley vs UMass-Lowell.

In regular-season play, Furman finished the Southern Conference undefeated and top of the competition. The Southern has no playoff. Queens University Charlotte has won the Cardinals by forfeit over Virginia, which opted not to play in the final. Vermont's game against Southern Connecticut was postponed, which may or may not put a crimp in UVM's clinching of the NEWCRC. 

Memphis beat Middle Tennessee State 27-15 to finish 5-0 and win the SCRC Tier 2.

Montana State won big over Colorado mesa, 84-19. Jack Paloucek and captain Pete Millen scored three tries each, and Joshua Brischke scored two. Northern Colorado beat Western Colorado. Those two will play for the Rocky Mountain championship on Sunday.
