DI-Level Games This Weekend

Bowling Green vs Louisville. A MAC final preview? Roger Mazzarella photo.

This week's men's DI college games are lumped into one list just because it's easier to do that with a smaller number of games.

We're into the playoff time, which is why some programs aren't on the field.

In DIA, the Big Ten finishes up with their finals weekend, there's a major rivalry game in the Red River with the improving Texas Longhorns (2-1 in the conference) against 2-0 Texas A&M. Army gets a chance to test themselves against highly-regarded Lindenwood and see if they can break into that top four in the rankings. While Lindenwood is in a non-conference game, Life and Davenport open up the Mid-South Conference. Davenport has played five games this fall already, warming up for the Mid-South; the Panthers get two conference games in the fall to make it easier for them to complete conference play in Michigans northern climes.

At 4-0-1, Davenport is in a good position, but faces a tough Life University team.

NCR's playoffs start with two DI play-in games. Mount St. Mary's plays Kutztown and Fordham plays Brown, with the winners entering the quarterfinals next week. The next tier is DIAA and those playoffs will be next week. we've got the matchups listed below as well. They are waiting for the MARC to finish up this week.

DIAA sees the MAC playoffs, which will be a two-game weekend for the top four teams. The MARC still has three teams at 5-1. West Chester leads thanks to an extra bonus point. But the fun part is that West Chester and fellow 5-1 team Rowan play this week. The winner could well be the conference winner, although if they tie then St. Joe's could waltz right by them. The top four will be West Chester, Rowan, St. Joe's, and Salisbury. The question is who makes the top two and therefore moves on to the NCR playoffs. Salisbury needs help, which would be Rutgers beating St. Joseph's. More likely is that St. Joe's beats Rutgers, guaranteeing a top-two spot. Then the winner of Rowan vs West Chester is the other top-two team.

Check back for scores.
