The new Colorado Interscholastic Rugby Association has confirmed the framework of its first season.

Girls Rugby will begin earlier than boys rugby. The league will play 7s and the season will start with preseason scrimmages on March 20. It's possible that not all programs will be ready to roll on March 20, but they will begin getting ready to play a series of fixtures through the weeks of April.

The league will modify the format of how teams play each other to avoid groupings of multiple teams so that the league won't run counter to local COVID restrictions.

Sat, Mar 20, 2021 - preseason scrimmages
Sat, Mar 27, 2021 - idle (common spring break weekend)
Sat, April 3, 2021 - Game Week 1
Sat, April 10, 2021 - Game Week 2
Sat, April 17, 2021 - Game Week 3
Sat, April 24, 2021 - Championships

The boys, meanwhile, will commence a 15s season starting in late April, just as the girls wrap up. How the season is formatted is still being considered, with the possible of some rules variations being explored if school districts want to limit contact. So there will be a season, but exactly how it will look remains up in the air.
