The University of Colorado pulled off a remarkable result over the weekend, defeating a good Colorado State team 36-5.

The teams went into the game somewhat even and Goff Rugby Report had CSU winning, but the Buffs built on a recent 20-0 shutout of Air Force and held the Rams to just the one try.

"Our defense was on fire," said Head Coach Chris Hanson. "The entire team was in on the defensive effort."

Prop forward Ellis Carroll scored two tries for Colorado, and center Charlie Quinn, lock Nicholas Eldridge, and center Jack Miller all touched down. Fullback Charles Bradley added four conversions and a penalty goal.

The win bumped Colorado to 4-1, while CSU dropped to 4-2.

BYU still leads the Rocky Mountain and looks well-placed to win the conference, but when it comes to rankings and potential additional playoff spots, Colorado may have made a move.
