Clemson University Rugby Football Club in conjunction with the Clemson Rugby Foundation is looking to hire a new Men's Head Rugby Coach following the stepping down of Justin Hickey.

The program seeks a candidate with dynamic leadership skills and proven managerial capabilities that will be used to foster the academic and athletic experience of Clemson Rugby student-athletes.  

The position of head coach is a challenging opportunity that will provide one with a sense of commitment, fulfillment, and accomplishment.  Managing internal and external constituencies such as the ACRL, USA Rugby, Varsity Cup, Penn Mutual CRC 7s, and Clemson University will be key factors to attaining success. Other factors of benefit for the successful applicant will be their ability to continue relations with an elite alumni base, parent organizations, and the community.

The job is paid on a contract basis.

Job requirements include:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Proven ability to develop high performance athletes, skill based as well as strength and conditioning.
• Demonstrated academic success of previously coached student-athletes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of competitive rugby in the United States in a collegiate environment.
• Complete understanding and interpretation of the laws of rugby.
• Clear understanding of the “club status” of rugby within Clemson University.
• Strong sense of organization; oral and written communication 
• Ability to lead and manage relationships with players, staff, and university.
• Ability to develop, communicate, and execute daily, weekly, and seasonal plans and goals to staff and team.  
• Certified International Rugby Board (IRB) or USA Rugby Level 300 Coach, preferred.
• Five years coaching experience (training and skills transfer) or administrative experience, preferably at the collegiate level.
• Laudable ethical conduct and integrity.
