Last month 24 players were recognized as the best of the Colorado Interscholastic Rugby Association (CIRA) by the coaches and invited to play in the Colorado State All-Star 7s game.

Played at the Infinity Park Turf under perfect conditions the student-athletes were split into two even teams coached by Catherine Scanlan (Summit High School Gold) and Keri Peacock (East High School) over three games. From the games selectors chose the CIRA All-State First and Second Teams and also announced the top player in Colorado, the Shalanda Baker Shield winner, Summit High School junior Paola Arredondo.

Arredondo was joined by teammate senior Olyvia Snyder, East freshman sensation Tahana Wilfley, and Monarch seniors Belle Robinson and Kate Muldoon, as unanimous first-team selections. Summit High School's Jenna Sheldon (sr) and Joselin Roque (jr) rounded out the first team.

The All-State 2nd Team is composed of freshman Hazel Pron, senior Annika Parrish, and sophomore Hunter McGowan of Regis, East High School's Ezra Rullan (sr) and Jade Crichlow, Marley Gurmendi (jr) of Monarch, and Palmer junior Miraya Savala.
