Changes At Top In USA Rugby And RIM

USA Rugby CEO Dan Payne will not be renewing his contract after July, but until then, he has an additional responsiblity.

Details on Payne's decision to step down this summer here.

USA Rugby announced today that Payne has been appointed as Chairman of the Board to Rugby International Marketing. RIM is 75% owned by USA Rugby, and is  the for-profit entity of the National Governing Body, tasked with monetizing the organizations commercial rights and building new revenue streams for the growth of rugby in the United States.

With Payne’s tenure as CEO coming to a close after the Rugby World Cup Sevens in July, the newly appointed CEO will continue to serve on the RIM Board of Directors with executive responsibilities.

Payne’s objective as Chairman will be to continue focus on the strong production of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in San Francisco.
