BYU Handles St. Mary's

BYU Rugby put an somewhat injury depleted St. Mary’s to the sword Saturday, hammering the Gaels 62-15 at South Field in Provo.

Kevin Schofield once again had a big day scoring, getting his hat trick in the first half to go along with one try from Joe Pikula, and 12 points from the boot of center Calvin Whiting.

St. Mary’s did not score a try until the 45th minute, and the Cougars replied with a Whiting penalty and a try from Matt Jensen to make it 40-8.

Matt Jensen, Joseph Ncholls, Tua Laei, and Josh Anderson all scored in the second half of a dominant game for BYU. Whiting, continues to go from strength to strength, working with with the backline at outside center, and logging 20 points with four penalties and four conversions.
