Breaking: Progress Made On A College 7s Championship Plan

With everything in flux in USA Rugby there are still a lot of questions about how the national governing body of the sport will handle regular yearly activities ... such as the collegiate sevens national championships.

With the CRC no more now that United World Sports has essentially ceased operations, USA Rugby's championship seems to be the only option.

Goff Rugby Report now understands that there will be a national collegiate sevens championship held at a high-level, multi-field venue. The tournament will include all of the divisions of USA Rugby's collegiate rugby scene: Men D1A, Men D1AA, Men D2, Women D1 Elite, Women D1, and Women D2.

NSCRO runs its own championship.

The deal struck will include a broadcast element, and it's quite possible that if D1A is involved we'll see FTF / ElevenSports involved, too. No other division is in a position to strike a broadcast deal at the moment.
