Big Win for GGA in Rugby PA

The weather played havoc with plenty of rugby this weekend, including the Rugby PA games.

Sunday's game between Berks and Conestoga didn't survive the rain. But the big clash between LaSalle and Gregory the Great did get played.

Both teams came into the matchup 3-0 and looking for the top seed in the playoffs.

But the day belonged to GGA as they defeated LaSalle 32-7.

What that means is GGA is the #1 seed in the playoffs.

"It was a great win for us," said Head Coach Garret van Beek. "It was tough conditions with the rain coming and going. It was hard for us or LaSalle to get flow into our match with the handling errors."

But ultimately GGA has been the strongest team in the state. Berks and Conestoga will probably not be able to play their game because the rain has been so bad. It likely will be recorded as a tie. So Berks ends up 3-0-1 and Conestoga 1-3-1. Doylestown beat St. Joe's Prep to move to 2-2 while LaSalle drops to 3-1.

"We have a team full of leaders who are eager to put in the performance necessary to reclaim the state title," added van Beek.
