In the opening game of the SCIRF season, Fallbrook defeated Cathedral Catholic 33-24.

The result was certainly a signal that Fallbrook's recruiting push has succeeded.

"We just plaued our game plan and played as a team," said Fallbrook Head Coach Sierra Arteaga. "It was a very tough game and competitive on both sides."

Outside center Chris Baush scored three tries on the night while hooker Angel Angulo was effective throughout and made some key line breaks.

Saturday's St. Augustine vs Mira Costa game is postponed due to COVID exposure at Mira Costa. There is a Varsity Gold game set for Saturday with Coronado taking on Mission Bay.
