SEATTLE – The ATAVUS All-Stars Women’s Collegiate 15s team will come together for camp July 22-26 at Niagara University in Lewiston, N.Y. The camp is highlighted by a game against the Canadian Provincial Select side, Ontario Storm, on July 25 at 4 p.m. ET. The Collegiate All-Stars roster is comprised of women brought from across ATAVUS programming in conjunction with athletes from the Collegiate National All-Star Competition held at James Madison University in June. USA Women’s Collegiate All-American Coach Sue Whitwell and Women’s Eagle Assistant Coach Martha Daines will lead camp and coach the team.

“I am excited to be working with some of the top college players in the country,” said Whitwell. “We will be introducing the concepts that the Eagles and Collegiate All-American teams use, enabling players to be more prepared for selection in the future.”

“Bringing these young women together as ATAVUS All-Stars provides a critically important competitive opportunity in rugby athlete development,” said Emile Bydwell, Head of Rugby Programming at ATAVUS. “Athletes need the opportunity to not only train, but play in a high performance environment. This camp, including a game versus a quality opponent, provides a remarkable chance to practice performing under pressure – a critical skill to make it at the highest levels of our game.”

This week’s ATAVUS All-Stars roster includes:

Nicole Benedetti - West Chester University
Kaitlyn Broughton - Life University
Nicole Burr - Augusta
N'Keiah Butler - Life University
Yejadai Dunn - Dartmouth College
Ally Dykes - Roger Williams University
Jade Enright - Colby College
Jocelyn Jones - Utah Valley University
Brianna Kim - University of Virginia
Sabrina Kraft - CSU Fullerton
Jessica Lu - Princeton University
Mindy McCracken - University of Colorado, Mesa
Saskia Morgan - Brown University
Margaret Myles - Quinnipiac University
Maggie Olney - Washington Furies
Fumie Reyes - University of Hawaii, Maui
Rose Russell - University of California
Kristen Siano - Rutgers University
Chelsey Sveinsson - Stanford University
Andrea Villanova - Penn State

The event also serves as part of the ATAVUS Coach Development Program, bringing in Sharon Blaney, former USA Eagle, to assist Whitwell and Daines. Blaney is a promising coach who is currently also enrolled in USA Rugby’s Elite Coach Development Program.

“It is crucial that we provide opportunities for coaches to develop in competitive environments alongside the players to further develop elite coaches in the U.S. ” notes Bydwell.
