ARPTC Hosts Men's High Performance Camp

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., American Rugby Pro Training Center (ARPTC) Head Coach Julia McCoy announced today that the June 5th through 8th High Performance would be the first Men’s High Performance Camp at the Little Rock training facility.

“This is our fourth High Performance Camp and the first in which we’ll be welcoming some of the top men’s athletes in the country to participated as well,” McCoy said. “We’re looking forward to finding some new talent that we can take to Eagles Coach Mike Friday."

The summer training camp will also be bringing in guest coach Chris Ryan as part of the training center’s Guest Coach Program. Ryan is the current Head Coach of Princeton University Women's Rugby, Atlantis Rugby Elite Men's 7s, Schuylkill River Rugby 7s, and the Philadelphia side entered into Elite City 7s.

"I am looking forward to coaching at ARPTC and getting to experience the culture that they are creating there,” said Ryan. "To be asked to coach in the first men’s high performance camp is a tremendous honor.”

During previous High Performance Camps, the Apprentice Coach Program has brought in Lindenwood University Women’s Rugby Coach Billy Nicholas, University of Arizona Women’s Rugby Coach Adam Dick, Scion Women’s Rugby Coach Joanne Liu, Justin Goonan of Springhill College and Anna Kunkel of Northland Men’s Rugby and Missouri High School Youth Rugby to learn from Coach McCoy and take advantage of the opportunity to work with top athletes. The Apprentice Coach Program is designed to be adapted for High Performance Camps as well as one week to one month durations, and can be used to earn USA Rugby Coach Education Credits. Two additional spots remain open for guest coaches during the June Camp.

ARPTC will continue to accept additional athletes and coaches for the June Camp until May 21st. Coaches wishing to be a part of the Apprentice Coach Program should email info@americanrugbypro.com. Coaches wishing to recommend players for the camp can fill out a Coach Referral Form on the ARPTC website or contact Coach McCoy at jules.mccoy@americanrugbypro.com
