The West Point men's rugby team is back on the field for the firs time since their loss to Life University in the ACRC Bowl Series in November.

Led by ACRC MVP Collum Magee, the captain and flanker who was on everyone’s all-conference list, the Black Knights take on the UMass Minutemen at Army's Foley Athletic Center - the game has been moved there due to the weather.

Army is currently ranked #6 by Goff Rugby Report’s listing of all DI men’s college rugby teams. UMass has been on GRR’s Top 50 during the fall and winter, but was bumped out recently thanks to the results from other teams. A good showing from the Minutemen should put them back in the rankings.

Army last competed on Nov. 22 in Charlotte, N.C., as part of the ACRC Bowl Series. The Black Knights fell to Life University 53-19. Magee, David Huff and Ben Foley all scored tries for Army in that game.

The Black Knights will have some roles to fill this spring, losing key players to injury late in the fall season. Vice-captain Logan Pearce went down early against Air Force and was sidelined for the remainder of the season. He was the team's second-highest point scorer, serving as both fullback and kicker. The senior is expected to return to the lineup before playoffs get underway.

Army also lost youngster Jake Lachina who will miss the entirety of the spring season.

Army will return to action on March 28 when they welcome service academy rival Navy to Anderson Rugby Complex. The game is scheduled to be broadcast live on Knight Vision.
