All-Time American List: Vanesha McGee

Vanesha McGee was an All American at Temple University and quickly through the USA U23s and onto the national team.

At Temple she led the Owls to a national DII championship, and her leadership and confidence was evident as she was able to make the jump to international rugby from the DII college game.

McGee was one of the first players to become a full-time 7s player for the USA and captained the Eagles to a Bronze Medal in 2013 in Russia. Fast enough for the wing and powerful enough for prop she was a very effective 7s player.

At the same time McGee became a mainstay on the wing for the Eagles through the 2010s. A fast and elusive runner and effective defender, McGee was capped 25 times and scored 13 tries, making for an impressive strike rate of 52%. She played in two 15s Rugby World Cups, in 2010 and 2014
