Aircraft Charter Solutions PoW - Terry Cullen

When Boston College High School won the Massachusetts state championship, Terry Cullen had a lot to do with it.

The imposing No. 8 scored three of his team’s four tries in the state final, and that was pretty much a normal game for him.

“Terry has been a critical part of our run this year, not only by scoring, but his offloading and passing in space has probably created an additional eight to ten tries,” said BC High Coach Paul Carty.

“I know when I want the ball in my hands and our scrumhalf Billy Connors and I have a good relationships and he knows when I call for it I see something,” added Cullen.

Cullen said winning the state championship with his team was more important than who scored the tries. And especially how they did it, falling behind early and putting the game away in the second half.

“O think we were a little riled up, but we weren’t nervous,” said Cullen. “We looked at each other and we knew we could turn it around. These are my brothers. These are the guys I play with every single day. I know we’d get it done. We go out there and we have belief in each other and we play for each other, and it’s been like that from Day One. That’s why I love playing for this team.”

Set to attend the University of Massachusetts in the fall, Cullen will be a huge addition to the UMass rugby program. Carty agrees.

“His rugby IQ has been great as well, as he has supported and joined our backs through the middle of the field when we needed quick ball, and he has made a living picking and rucking near our opponents’ line. Terry was really the ideal No. 8.”
